Love statuary, but not sure if you have the right place for it? Check out the post below!
Statuary is a great way to add another dimension to your garden. Gardens hold a magical presence, whether you like mythicals, animals, or fantastical creatures, there’s a statue for everyone. Statuary also comes in many materials like concrete, composites, resins, etc…
Some statuary come with meanings. For example, the pineapple is a symbol of warmth and welcome, so some people place pineapple statues at the entrance to their home and garden. Gargoyles are said to ward off evil, whereas gnomes are your garden protectors. Statues add whimsy to the garden and personal style.
Caring for Statuary
Special precautions should be taken when caring for your statuary in order to preserve its appearance for as long as possible. Campania recommends to bring anything inside overwinter that can hold water. If water gets in the statue during the winter, the freezing and thawing can crack the cast stone. Statuary should also be placed on top a paving stone, concrete block, or concrete pavement to protect it from the harsher elements of the soil and ground.
